Does your skin often feel like this after shaving?

It doesn't have to be that way!
How to avoid irritation and razor burn after shaving:
-
Prepare skin & hair for shaving
For wet shaving, it is important that your skin is wet and you use a gentle shaving aid (gel or foam - preferably soap-free and pH-neutral like our SHAVE & SHOWER series) so that the Razor can glide smoothly over your skin. Never apply shaving foam/gel directly onto dry skin, as this defeats the purpose!
Trim long hairs with scissors beforehand so they don't get caught in the Razor and get pulled out instead of shaved!
-
Use sharp blades
The common replacement heads of drugstore razors are often used longer than is good for the skin - either because you want to get the most out of the many euros you paid for the Blade Cartridges, or because you don't want to throw the plastic dispenser with the blades away so quickly.
Whatever the reason: You are not doing your skin any favors!
Dull blades no longer glide smoothly over the skin and through the hair. They often start to "catch," creating a pulling sensation. And that's exactly what happens: instead of gently shaving through the hair, the blade briefly catches and pulls on the hair. The result: irritated skin spots, pimples, and ingrown hairs when the hair snaps back into the skin after being pulled.

The angle matters
Are you using a pivot head razor like the SHAVENT? Then you don't have to worry about anything else - the flexible head always positions the Blades perfectly on the skin for optimal shaving.
If you use a classic Safety razor with a fixed head, you must always hold the blades at a 30-degree angle to the skin, otherwise injuries can occur quickly - especially when shaving the body!
Extra tip: Shave particularly sensitive areas in the direction of hair growth, not against the grain; this is gentler regardless of which Razor you use!
This way your skin will soon love shaving and you won't have to worry about razor bumps anymore!
