Razor blades: THAT'S WHY THE SHAVENT USES STANDARD BLADES
Razor blade freedom at SHAVENT
NO MORE EXPENSIVE BLADECARTRIDGES
A closed system like the well-known drugstore brands was out of the question for us with SHAVENT. Too much waste, too high costs - we had enough of standing in front of the drugstore shelf with incomprehension and spending €60-100 a year on blade heads.
That's why all SHAVENT metal razors use standard razor blades, so-called "half blades".
They do not require any plastic and are so cheap, starting at ~15 cents per blade change, that it's a joy.
Razor Blades
Complete blade freedom: The SHAVENT uses inexpensive standard razor blades, which are completely plastic-free
(so-called half blades or half blades, single edge blades, called half razor blades)
These can be bought inexpensively from many brands. They have been used in straight razors for decades and are thorough, gentle and inexpensive. You can find a small selection of brands right here with us.
If you already have "entire" razor blades, i.e. "double edge" blades, you can also use them in the SHAVENT. Just carefully cut in half with scissors.

Your perfect shave
Our top 6 tips for a perfect shave
1. Preparation of the skin:
Prepare your skin thoroughly and wash the area with warm water to open the pores.
2. Use shaving gel or foam:
It is best to use shaving gel, shaving soap or foam so that the blade glides smoothly over the skin and avoids irritation.
3. Cleaning the blade:
Simply rinse the blade after each stroke to remove hair and foam. If the blade is not cleaned, it will become clogged and work less efficiently.
4. Do not press too hard:
Apply only very light pressure and let the blade do its work. Too much pressure will cause skin irritation and cuts.
5. Skin care after shaving:
Care for your skin after shaving with aftershave, lotion or a soothing balm. If you skip this step, you risk irritation and redness.
6. Replace blades regularly to ensure a sharp and close shave.
Old or dull blades can cause unpleasant skin irritations. Since the SHAVENT uses inexpensive razor blades, you can change the blades as often as you like. In our shop you get razor blades in a practical pack of 100, which is enough for around 33 blade changes.
Razor Blades FAQ
Cleaning razor blades is important to extend their lifespan and prevent rusting. It is therefore advisable to rinse the blades thoroughly after each shave and completely remove all hair. The razor and blade should then air dry on the stand or upside down.
It is best to store razor blades in a dry place to avoid rust. For used blades, we recommend the SHAVENT blade collection box , which you can find in our shop. The
SHAVENT travel bag made of leather and the SHAVENT case made of cork .
If shaving no longer feels comfortable, the skin is irritated and unsightly stubble remains, the razor blade is probably dull and it is time to change the blade. A dull blade can cause you to have to shave the same area more often, which can lead to skin irritation.
You can recycle used razor blades or dispose of them in the trash. Just make sure you dispose of them safely because even if they are blunt, they can still cause injuries. For example, wrap the old razor blades in paper or put them in the blade packaging, old containers or cans. These can also be disposed of with residual waste.
The SHAVENT uses standard razor blades. The so-called half blades or “single edge blades” have been used in razors for decades and are available to buy cheaply from many brands in our shop, on the large online marketplaces and in specialist shops. This means that every blade change only costs a few cents instead of many euros.
