What is the SHAVENT razor and why is it there?

SHAVENT is an innovative 3-blade swing head razor that combines sustainability and independence with elegance and comfort.

We developed the SHAVENT razor because we were shocked by the amount of waste and plastic we consume when wet shaving around the world year after year. Existing low-waste alternatives such as safety razors or razors did not convince us in our own use and so we developed the SHAVENT razor - sustainability without sacrificing comfort and elegance.

What makes the SHAVENT swing head shaver so different?

As one of the first, the SHAVENT razor combines the comfort of a swing head shave with the sustainability and manufacturer independence of recyclable razor blades. Our goal was to make plastic-free shaving gentle, comfortable and suitable for everyday use - even for everyone who had not yet found the ultimate solution with a classic safety razor in quick daily use.

In addition, the focus is on longevity as a pillar of sustainability! We wanted to develop a device where the aging of materials such as plastic or rubber is excluded by not using these materials.

What is the SHAVENT razor made of?

The SHAVENT razor is made of high-quality die-cast zinc, a process that is widely used for parts that should be functional and beautiful at the same time.

You will find such parts as furniture fittings, cooker handles, interior and exterior fittings on cars, as device housings or high-quality USB sticks in the electronics industry. The surface finish in bright chrome ensures visual brilliance.

How long does a SHAVENT razor last?

Following the principle of sustainability, we focused on 2 key factors when developing the SHAVENT razor: Long service life and repairability.

A long service life is achieved through the use of durable materials and intelligent design down to the last detail.

Due to the age-related, chemical-mechanical changes, plastic simply cannot meet the demand for a long service life. After a short time, it loses important mechanical properties that would be necessary for the function and also becomes visually unattractive.

Zinc, on the other hand, lasts a lifetime. And since the mechanics of the SHAVENT razor are designed accordingly, you can enjoy your SHAVENT swing-head razor for decades!

You want details? Here you have it: The rotatable mounting of the oscillating head on the handle is done with specially made screws. The cylindrical sliding surfaces of the screws, without threads or gaps, such as those found on cotter pins, do not cause any wear on the handle. The stainless steel spring has been dimensioned so large that it will function reliably for many years. And: Should the spring tire after years, it can easily be replaced at home. A spare parts kit is available inexpensively in our shop. Simply unscrew the screws between the oscillating head and the handle, disassemble the SHAVENT razor and replace the spring.

Can I recycle the SHAVENT razor?

If you want to part with your SHAVENT razor with a heavy heart after many years, simply dispose of it as metal in the designated recycling points. Since it contains no plastic or rubber inclusions, it can be recycled as a pure metal.

Zinc recycling has a high priority.

Where is the SHAVENT razor produced?

Our SHAVENT is, that was important to us, Made with Love in Germany.

While the first SHAVENTs still came from North Rhine-Westphalia, our parts are now cast in Thuringia, carefully polished (with many steps still done by hand!), galvanized (i.e. chrome-plated) and assembled, checked and packaged in Munich.

USE & CARE

What do I have to consider when using it? Are there safety instructions?

The Shavent is just as safe as other razors. Simply start with significantly less pressure than usual and feel your way to your new shaving feeling at your leisure.

But: Razor blades are known to be sharp - so care should always be taken when handling them.

Do I need to wet my skin before shaving?

The SHAVENT is a wet razor, i.e., like all wet razors, it only shaves as gently and well as it can on wet skin. Please do not use a wet razor (the shavent or any other) on dry skin, as this irritates your skin unnecessarily and the shaving result also suffers.

Do I have to use shaving foam for the SHAVENT?

The SHAVENT does without "sliding strips" as found on some drugstore razors and which provide a gliding effect with water for a few (often few) shaves. The metal surface of the SHAVENT alone does not slide with water, so you have a firm grip on the handle without rubber deposits.

You use a soap that leaves a "squeak" on the skin rather than a creamy film? This is not so well suited for shaving, because it tends to reduce the gliding ability and instead of a gentle shave, a "stuttering" occurs.

Soap-free soap? What is special about the SHAVE & SHOWER Solid Shaving Bar?

Sounds funny - but it's true!

Our "shaving soap" is not soap - because soap attacks the acid mantle of your skin and often leaves it dry and tight.

That was out of the question for our shaving care products - that's why they are soap-free and pH-neutral. They keep the acid mantle of your skin intact and give it a lot of care and moisture.

Therefore: our SHAVE & SHOWER Solid Shaving Bar looks like shaving soap, you use it like shaving soap - but it's no ordinary shaving soap!

How now, shaving gel in powder form? How does the SHAVE & SHOWER shaving gel work?

Shaving gels often come in an unnecessarily large amount of packaging - from plastic tubes to spray cans - that didn't work out for us!

Instead, we just get that SHAVE & SHOWER Shaving Gel as a powder in a paper bag. So we can bring it to your home without plastic, where you just shake it up with 200ml of water.

And you already have a large portion of light. nourishing and productive shaving gel, without large portions of packaging waste.

I am a woman - is the SHAVENT razor also suitable for me?

But something of YES!

Our razor offers a perfect, comfortable and safe shave for sensitive areas of the face and body. There is absolutely no reason why these games should only be on one man. For Boys & Girls & everyone else!

We deliberately decided against issuing the SHAVENT razor in a "Ladies Edition" - SHAVENT does not need a "Pink Tax". Don't pay more for products that have just been "painted" pink but actually work exactly the same as the "for men" product!

Is the SHAVENT razor suitable for intimate shaving for men/women?

Yes, the SHAVENT razor is ideally suited for a gentle shave in intimate areas thanks to its swinging head and three blades - the same precautionary measures apply as with conventional razors.

Is the SHAVENT razor suitable for head shaving / bald head shaving?

The "head shave" is indeed the supreme discipline of shaving - a very thin layer of skin and tissue over a very individually curved bone.

Our "house owner" bald head loves shaving with the SHAVENT - he said he needed about 3-4 shaves in which he slowly and calmly got used to the new shaving feeling and today he doesn't let anything else on his skull - because he thinks his shaving result has never been as smooth as with the SHAVENT.

For head shaving we recommend our "Strong Men, Strong Hair Set".

Just try it out for yourself, take your time and start with little pressure. This is the best way to get a feel for your new head shaver.

I have very thick / thick hair - can the SHAVENT handle it?

Of course! The SHAVENT always circumnavigates your contours gently and reliably - what is much more of an issue with thick hair are the right blades!

Our derby blades are super all-rounders and most of our SHAVENT users (including the team itself) love them. But if you have very strong hair, then this sounds like a job for PermaSharp blades. These absolutely professional blades are super sharp and even tackle thick hair with ease.

I feel the handle gets slippery when shaving?

The chrome surface of the SHAVENT gives a special grip in combination with wet skin, you can even hear the effect when you "squeak" your finger over the handle. 

If your hand gets too much soap while shaving, then simply rinse it off when you rinse off the SHAVENT between shaving strokes - and the grip is back!

P.S. Try that too SHAVE & SHOWER Shaving Gel - this can be rinsed off the hands extra quickly and offers a wonderfully light, nourishing shaving basis!

How do I clean my SHAVENT shaver?

Simply rinse under running water after each shave. Dismantling is not required.

You can carry out a more thorough cleaning every time you change the blade by simply rinsing the individual parts under running water. Be a little careful with the intermediate plates so that they don't bend. Without the blades and the intermediate plates, you can also let the shavent go through the dishwasher to bring it to a high gloss.

If you shave very thick hair or use a very pasty shaving cream, this can be a challenge for a multi-blade razor. With the SHAVENT you don't have to worry about having to throw away blades too quickly - on the contrary! Should the requirements become too tough and the SHAVENT cannot transport all the hair backwards normally, you can simply unscrew the screws 1-2 turns, rinse them with water that is as warm as possible, tighten it again and you can continue. Armin shows you here - Of course, you can also rinse it out in a bowl with water that is as warm as possible, this saves water.

Can the SHAVENT also be used with 1 or 2 blades?

Yes, the SHAVENT also works with fewer blades. We designed the SHAVENT as a 3-blade razor, i.e. with 3 blades we find the shave to be the gentlest and also recommend the "full set". But you can try out for yourself with how many blades shaving is most comfortable for you.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RAZOR BLADES

Which blades can I use?

One of the advantages of the SHAVENT are the Standard razor blades.

The so-called "half-blades" or single edge blades have been used in razors for decades and are available from a variety of brands and at great prices.

So you are not trapped in a blade system, but can freely choose your favorite blade brand.

These are industrially manufactured single-edged razor blades, which consist of half a "conventional" blade. They are available inexpensively in our shop and on all common sales portals, drugstores or in specialist shaving shops. The unit price is a fraction of the cost of interchangeable heads.

If you don't have any half-blades available or want to use up "leftovers" of conventional, double-edged blades, you can of course do so. In this case you have to cut them in half. It works best if you cut them up with scissors. We strongly advise against breaking due to the increased risk of injury - breaking also creates a burr that does not optimally align the blades in the SHAVENT.

Please be very careful with this and do not let this job be done by people who cannot fulfill this task.

Can the SHAVENT also be used with 1 or 2 blades?

How often should I change the blades?

That's the Gretchen question that's keeping an entire razor industry alive.

If you read the blogs of replaceable head manufacturers, you will find recommendations for changing frequencies of up to (for us almost unbelievable) 1-2 times a week for daily shaving. Can't imagine what you're wearing Money and garbage used for interchangeable heads.

Basically, you can change your SHAVENT blades just as often or as little as in your previous razor - with the small difference that every change makes a HUGE difference in costs and waste - but you already know that.

Our experience shows that it is best to go by feel. Every 2-3 weeks we no longer perceive the shave as "smooth" and you notice how individual hairs begin to be pulled. Then we just swap our blades.

The ladies of the team use them a little longer for legs and armpits. For the skin on the face and genital area, as with any razor, a more consistent change is recommended.

You will see that razor burn and pimples are a thing of the past if you relax and reach into your pack of 100 razor blades instead of subconsciously torturing yourself with an old and blunt replaceable head with "oh, that's fine".

Is replacing the blades difficult?

No, it works great in no time and is easy to do. Just take a little time for the first one or two changes and you'll quickly get the hang of it. Armin has also made a video for you here.

When does my order arrive?

As soon as your order is shipped, you will receive an email with a so-called tracking link. You can use this link to track the status of your order.

Orders that are shipped within Germany are usually delivered within 2 to 4 working days. Shipping to other countries may take longer in individual cases, depending on how busy the post office is in your country.

Due to the currently fully utilized postal companies, there are sometimes unexpected delays or incorrect information in the tracking data. It's always very annoying, but the good news is: so far every Shavent has found its way to a new owner. If you have been waiting for your shipment for a particularly long time (more than a week in Germany and more than two weeks abroad) or if you have other questions about the status of your shipment, contact us at any time at kontakt@shavent.com.de.

Insider tip: for deliveries outside of Germany, you can track your shipment with the tracking number at your local post office. There you will usually find further information about where your package is in your country.

How much does the shipping cost?

We ship all SHAVENTs free of charge within Europe, Switzerland and the UK.

Can I track my order?

Yes. We will provide updates at every stage of your order, from the moment you place your order through to shipping and delivery. You will receive a tracking reference in your delivery confirmation email, which you can use to track the progress of your order online.

I sent something back - how does the refund work?

We aim to process refunds within three days of your item reaching us. You will receive an email when your refund has been issued. However, please note that it may take a few days for your bank to transfer the payment back to your account. The refund will be made to the same payment method that you used for the purchase. If the refund hasn't arrived ten working days after the return, get in touch with us and we'll find out where the problem could be.

Can I return the SHAVENT products if I have already used them?

Most of our products are hygiene products for personal use. If something is wrong with the function or if a flaw has slipped through our quality control, then we will of course exchange the product immediately.

However, used hygiene products are normally excluded from returns. However, we have decided to make an exception to this rule:

How can I return an item?

Please contact our customer service team via kontakt@shavent.store and you will receive all information about the return as well as a link with which you can create a return label. You can print this out and attach it to your return. Please refrain from sticking anything on the product itself or the direct product packaging and always use a cardboard box to send the return so that everything arrives safely.

My order has arrived, but not as expected. What can I do?

In the rare event that your order arrives damaged or faulty, please take photos of the product in question and email them to us kontakt@shavent.store with the details. We will get back to you within 48 hours and find a solution to the problem together.

How long does it take to return an item?

This depends on the carrier or shipping method you choose when returning your item. Be sure to get the tracking number for your package so you have proof of the return and we can both see where your shavent is on its journey. As soon as we have received your return, we will notify you by email. We aim to process refunds within three days of receipt of the item at our warehouse. However, it may take several days for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund on your account or card.

Can I have the SHAVENT sent as a gift?

Of course! The SHAVENT is the perfect gift for shaving lovers, everyone who loves elegant things and above all for everyone who would like to produce less plastic in everyday life and no longer want to be dependent on interchangeable heads.
